Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson and Detroit's unequalled musical legacy aside, the city is amidst climbing crime, poverty and unemployment rates.

Julien Temple's BBC4 film charts the rise of what was once America's richest city and what is becoming a stark warning from the future.

So instead of listening to a bitter Eddie Fowlkes bitch about Richie "F*ck Ass" Hawtin learn some more about this intriguing city in its current social state.
