Chris Finke Gives Que Club Atomic Send Off

Goodbyes are tough enough at the best of times so who better to send off Birmingham’s institutional Que Club (a converted methodists church) than long time Atomic Jam resident resident and Flux Recordings boss man Chris Finke. Finke had the honour and privilege to play the clubs last ever set and fuelled by the lump in his throat and welling tears of the Que Club faithful, Finke brought home an inspired set rammed full of the classics.

Ade Fenton and Mark Broom can both boast residencies at the 17 year long running Atomic Jam, but it is Chris Finke who remains the crowned resident DJ. Que Club temporarily closed down between 2003 and 2008, forcing the event to change its locale until returning to a new “Q” Club in 2008. Atomic Jam remained there until the Birmingham techno garrison finally shut its doors for good on January 28th of this year. A quick glance over the many names to grace Atomic Jam include everyone from Jeff Mills, Robert Hood and Derrick May to Chris Liebing, Joey Beltram, Speedy J and Oliver Ho, not to mention the UK’s biggest techno stalwarts Surgeon, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, James Ruskin and Dave Clarke.

Chris Finke was naturally front and centre for Que Clubs final curtain call which was mic’d up catching the clubs final hour of throbbing beats, rattling percussion and cheers and tears for added nostalgia.
