The Future Sound Of Sonic Groove

Adam X - Eastbound Underground 02 by i-9

Adam X and the Sonic Groove name throughout the nineties and early noughties was somewhat of a lynchpin for the New York electronic music community and although relocating to Berlin both Adam X and Sonic Groove's roots remain strong.

Between 1995 and 2001 Adam X Mitchell was running the successful Sonic Groove Record store based in Manhattan and in 1998 his Eastbound Underground 02 mix tape circulated the New York streets. In a time where hardware production techniques and methods outweighed that of software and VST plug ins, Adam X's Eastbound Underground 02 mix is a trip down memory lane for those who were there and a drilling for those who weren't.

13 years on the mix is now available online thanks to Ian Sheridan who has kindly uploaded it to his soundcloud account where track ID's are welcome.
