Xhin - Melbourne Deepcast

In preparation of an March Australian tour supported by TEA, Xhin has compiled an eclectic mix of techno, dub, breakbeat and electronica for Melbourne's revered Deepcast series.

The Melbourne Deepcast is a shining light amongst a superfluous network of podcasters on todays interwebs. The Melbourne Deepcast is not only bolstering Melbounre''s electronic music scene but that of Australia's with listeners in subscribing from all over the country and the world.

A long list of previous international podcasters include Quarion, John Daly, Rene Breitbarth, Dubbyman, Eddie C, FCL, The Revenge, Lee Curtis, Toby Tobias, Vince Watson, Iron Curtis and a host of others. What defines The Melbourne Deepcast from others is its patronage to the amount of incredible talent within Melbourne's ranks. Local contributers include Christian Vance, Lewie Day (aka Tornado Wallace), Craig McWhinney, Mic Newman, Francis Inferno Orchestra, Otologic and Mike Callander.

Xhin's mixes have earnt a reputation of being somewhat of a musical lesson or lecture in electronic music styles, with 90's electronica often playing a major role (see his Electric Deluxe podcast). This time around we see Boards Of Canada, Autechre, Clark and Caustic Window (aka Richard David James aka Aphex Twin) penciled in for what may well be an insight into the Singaporeans down reaching and dusky production techniques.
